John Gresham, Upson Co., fought in the War of 1812. He was under Captain Adam Heeth (Heath), Colonel Ignatius Few's 3rd Regiment, Georgia Militia. Have this from the Nat'l. Archives.

Upson County
In the name of God Amen, I John Gresham of said State and County being of
advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart from this world deem it
right and proper both as respects myself and my family that I should make a
disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me
with. I therefore make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and
annulling all others heretofore made by me.
Item first. I give and bequeath unto Ezekiel Lloyd my son in law five
dollars in silver as his full portion or share of my Estate both Real and
Personal.
Item Second. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Lloyd and her
children one fourtheenth part of my Estate both Real and Personal free from
the controls of her present Husband Ezekiel Lloyd and to be free from and
unincumbered from any of his debts or contracts in any manner whatever.
Item Third. I give and bequeath unto Harris McDaniel my son in law five
dollars in silver as his full portion or share of my Estate both Real and
Personal.
Item Fourth. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucinda McDaniel and her
children one fourtheenth part of my Estate both Real and Personal free from
the controls of her present Husband Harris McDaniel and to be free from and
unincumbered from any of his debts or contracts in any manner whatever.
Item fifth. I hereby appoint my son Pleasant Gresham Trustee for my
Daughter Mary Lloyd and her children and Lucinda McDaniel and her children
to carry the above second and fourth Items fully into effect.
Item Sixth. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in law, Melinda Gresham
the wife of my son John Gresham, Jr. late of Lincoln County and State
aforesaid Deceased five dollars in silver as her full portion or share of
my Estate both Real and Personal.
Item seventh. I give and bequeath unto my two grand Children John Q.
Gresham and Josephine Gresham the children of my son John Gresham, Jr. late
of Lincoln County and State aforesaid Deceased Jointly one fourteenth part
of my Estate both Real and Personal.
Item eighth. I hereby appoint my Brother in law Dennis Paschall of Wilkes
County and State aforesaid Trustee for my two Grand Children named in the
Seventh Item to carry said Item fully into effect.
Item ninth. I give and bequeath all the rest of my Estate what ever it may
be both Real and Personal unto my Wife Susan Gresham and the rest of my
Children to Wit. Pleasant Gresham, William Gresham, Jeremiah Gresham,
George W. Gresham, Hezekiah Gresham, Joshua McKenney, Willis McMullin,
Travis McKenney, Barkesdale Pickard, and George K. McKenndly, to be equally
divided between them.
Item tenth. It is my wish and desire that my entire Estate both Real and
Personal be Legally exposed at public sale in order that all the above
Items be fully put into effect.
Item eleventh. I constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Susan Gresham
Executrix and my son Pleasant Gresham Executor to this my last Will and
Testament this 19th February 1848.
