Mrs. John D. Sharp Jr.
Harlem, GA. -- Mrs. Helen Stone Sharp, 66, of Harlem, formerly of Hartwell, Ga., widow of Col. John D. Sharp Jr., U. S. Army Ret. died Sat., Nov. 4, 1989, at Ashton Woods Convalescent Center in Atlanta.
Born in Anderson County, S. C., she was a daughter of the late Robert Cleveland and Mary Johnson Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of Greene Street Presbyterian Church, West, in Augusta.
Surviving are son, John D. Sharp III of Atlanta; daughter Mrs. Carolyn S. Day of O'Fallon, Ill.; sister Mrs. Spencer (Myra) Glasgow of Greenwood; brothers, Marshall Stone of Starr and Earl "Pete" Stone of Valdosta; four grandchildren.
Graveside services at 12 noon Tuesday at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Sandy Springs, S.C.
The body is at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Anderson, where the family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to Thornwell Orphanage, Clinton, S. C.
